February has seen the bad news continue, with approximately 445 job losses in Berkshire confirmed and another 1,050 at risk. All sectors are experiencing the effects of the economic downturn with retail being the most obvious and visible casualty. There has however been some good news. Just over 100 jobs have or will be created and two key investments projects, worth over £250m, have continued apace. As well as this there are longer term plans for an additional £600m to be invested, to make the area more attractive for businesses to relocate to.
