Berkshire Economic Commentary 2009 - June

There are two main points of concern for Berkshire on the horizon.  The first is the relocation of Vodafone's HQ from Newbury to Paddington. Vodafone has been a large part of Newbury's, and West Berkshire's, fortunes over recent years. 200 jobs have already been relocated, which will leave a void that could become a major issue if there were any more.

The other concern is the lack of job vacancies. Not only is there currently a shortfall between vacancies available and JSA claimants, this is likely to become even worse when 2009's University graduates begin actively job-hunting, later this year.
