Berkshire Economic Commentary 2009 - September

Unemployment has continued to rise. Vacancies have fallen again, and are significantly lower than last year. However, although Berkshire has experienced higher than average levels of unemployment, it has seen lower than average decreases in vacancies.

Berkshire is still in a stronger position than most other areas around the country and needs to ensure that once businesses begin feeling the effects of the eventual upturn, it is able to maximise on this position.
