Berkshire Economic Commentary 2010 - February

It is expected that unemployment will continue to rise even after you leave a recession.  However, the rise this month in unemployment, following two months of successive and significant decreases, does not bode well for the pace of the recovery.  The UK barely left the recession, growing by only 0.1% last quarter.  Falling back into recession is a very real concern.  Supporting new businesses to start up and existing ones to expand, seems to be the only way of helping the jobless in finding jobs.  To facilitate recovery, we need to better exploit the many advantages Berkshire has to offer the business community.
